Samantha Dumala Wins Girls 2 Nationals

Several Ski Club members went to the US Water Ski Nationals but only one came back with the gold.  Prior to the Nationals, you could see Samantha skiing on the lake with the most wind, starting at 32 off and training until dark.  Her hard work paid off.

Samantha Dumala of Wellington won the Girls II Slalom national championship at the 68th GOODE Water Ski National Championships. The competition was held Aug. 8-14 in Wilmington, Ill.

Dumala, 13, entered the competition as the No. 5-ranked skier in the country. Her sister, Danielle, is ranked 19th. They train with their father, Mike, at Okeeheelee Park.  See this news in the Palm Beach Post

I hope that skiing will always make you happy. Your success is a tribute to your talent, goals, willingness to work, and the support of your awesome family. You make us proud, not just as a skier but as a person.

Hi Samantha, I just read you came in first in your division. I’m so proud of you, I wish I had started skiing at your age .I know you have been working hard on your training all summer. It sure paid off. You have a great family who supports you, I know you must appreciate it. Maybe one day you can take me out and give me some pointers.
I’m going to brag about you to my grand kids and hope it sparks an interest with them. Congratulations. Linda Zibelli
